MISSION: STAGE LEFT, an Artworks youth theatre workshop, is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to enrich, educate, and entertain the young people of our community by providing creative opportunities in arts development, leadership, performance, and team collaboration.
PROGRAMS:
Stage Left Summer Backstage:
- A week-long day camp for students in middle and high school.
- Offers experience in technical aspects of theatre.
- This program, in collaboration with Maskrafters Community Theatre, will allow students to design, build, and manage sets, costumes, lighting, and sound for an actual musical theatre production.
Stage Left Players:
- A theatre workshop for middle school and high school students.
- The Players meet weekly, under supervision of the Director or guest teacher, to pursue projects written/adapted, directed, designed, acted, and produced entirely by the players themselves.
- The Players present one main-stage production and one original production each year.
Stage Left Young Players Project:
- A curriculum of theatre-related courses offered to pre-school and Elementary-aged students.
- Topics include theatre games, acting, creative movement, costume and makeup fun, storytelling, readers' theatre, etc.
- Begins January 2006.
Stage Left for Scott County:
- A program designed to bring theatre to all students in Scott County, Kentucky.
- Theatre workshops, taught by the Director, offered to area preschool and private schools.
- The repertory program developed by the Stage Left Players will be made available to Elementary, Middle and High Schools in Scott County, as well as to local private and preschools.
